ACEC WI’s mission is designing and protecting Wisconsin's future with professional engineering solutions. In order to achieve this mission, we must take an active role in legislation and policies that impact our profession. ACEC WI is a respected and recognized organization at our state capitol thanks in large part to our grassroots lobbyists, our members. Together, we are a powerful, unified voice.
Contributing to the legislative process, through political giving, makes us a recognized player and puts the engineering profession on even footing with competing interests.
Prior to each legislative session, the ACEC WI Government Affairs Committee develops our Government Affairs Agenda. From this agenda, key issues are identified. The Government Affairs Agenda serves as our legislative strategy, providing direction to both our lobbyists and our grassroots lobbyists.
The Advocacy in Action Center is designed to educate and engage ACEC WI members on legislative issues and policy debates that impact our industry. Members can keep up-to-date by following the Issue Tracker or reading the legislative alerts. This is a members-only benefit and requires a password to access the content.
Members labeled as legislative contacts and conduit contributors receive special legislative alerts when action is needed. Actions may include contacting legislators to urge support or opposition to a bill or special fundraising requests to support friends of the industry. Responding to these alerts is critical to our success.
ACEC national monitors and advocates for issues on the national level. Contributing to the ACEC PAC ensures our voice is also heard in Washington DC.
