Call for Volunteers - Resume Review Workshop

Posted By: Andrew Heidtke ACEC WI News, Industry News,

WTS Wisconsin and ACEC WI are partnering with the UW Madison LEED Scholar Program to assist program participants with a resume review workshop on Tuesday, September 14, 5:00 - 7:00pm virtually.

What is the LEED Scholars Program?

“The Leaders in Engineering Excellence and Diversity (LEED) Scholars Program is a competitive scholarship program, designed to attract academically talented women and students from groups historically underrepresented in the field of engineering.”

This will be a virtual event and consist of 15 minute sessions where the students have the opportunity to discuss their resume with an industry professional one on one and receive feedback.

We will provide a review rubric to use as a guide making it possible for anyone with or without review experience to participate and provide valuable reviews to the students.

We need industry professionals to help make this event possible. The event will run for 2 hours. We’d prefer participation for at least two slots,  but if you have just 15 minutes to review one resume, we still encourage you to sign up!

How do I get involved?

Please email julia.busch@hdrinc.com with your availability by Thursday, September 9th! If you are flexible on time, but prefer to only participate for a certain number of slots, telling us that flexibility will be greatly appreciated. Let us know this and we can work you into the schedule and get all shifts covered.

Response Example: Available 5:30PM – 6:30PM (Only willing to participate for 30 Minutes (two slots))

What will we do: We will assign you 30 consecutive minutes within your provided availability. 5:30PM-6:00PM or 5:45PM-6:15PM or 6:15PM-6:30PM

Next Steps

After we assign slots to all volunteers we will send out a follow up email to confirm your slot times and provide information needed to participate in the virtual meeting. You can expect this email on Friday 9/10 or early Monday 9/13.
