Class of 2020 Focus Turns to Running the Business

The Leadership Institute Class of 2020 met December 3-4 in Elkhart Lake for its third session. This module, Running the Business, focuses on the business side of engineering. Industry consultant David Wahby lead this fast-paced course on the numbers that drive business decisions. The module included key financial practices, overhead, project management key indicators and best practices, reading and understanding balance sheets. Calculators were required!

Taking a break from calculations and balance sheets, the evening meal features a favorite program tradition – an etiquette and wine dinner. The Class of 2020 was treated to a delicious five-course dinner. Throughout the dinner service, the group learned about etiquette for fine dining, business dining and cocktail parties. As an added treat, the courses were paired with wines (and one beer) along with information on wine and pairings.
