The Leadership Institute Class of 2022’s began their journey September 21-22 in Wausau. The Class of 2022 is our largest group in the program’s 16-year history and we’re off to a great start!

Our first session, A/E Firm Leadership: Know Thyself Then Others, helped leaders become more self-aware and apply leadership techniques to motivate and engage others. Industry consultant John Geddie led the group learned how to leverage their own strengths and compensate for weaknesses via the personalized DiSC assessment results. Understanding their own preferences and learning to recognize the preferences of others is key to communicating and leading effectively.

The session featured a panel of successful industry leaders discussing leadership and industry trends. Dave Brose, EMCS; Marijean Hoppe, American Engineering Testing; Randy Van Natta, Becher-Hoppe Associates; and Jan Zander, Ayres Associates shared leadership insights and lessons learned. The Class of 2022 brought challenging questions on the current issues facing our industry and society. The panelists were candid and helpful.

In addition to learning from our presenter and panelists, Class Advisor Gil Hantzsch, MSA Professional Services, attends each session to provide real-world insights and serves as a resource and mentor throughout the course of the program. Participants also learn from each other through class sharing and working on personal growth and goals supported by accountability partners.
