ACEC WI Heads to the Capitol

ACEC WI members came to Madison this week for our annual Legislative Day. It's our best opportunity to meet legislators and advocate for engineering interests. On Tuesday, the Leadership Institute Class of 2022 gathered for their fifth session, Government Affairs 101. They learned about the importance of our advocacy efforts and how the lawmaking process works. The class also presented on their committee observation assignments to the Board of Directors.

On Wednesday, the class joined more than 50 members and heard about our top legislative priorities moving forward. WisDOT Secretary Craig Thompson and ACEC National VP Matt Reiffer gave us a wider perspective on the impact of federal infrastructure funding. Finally, everyone headed up to the capitol to meet with their legislators and share the importance of robust infrastructure funding and the expertise engineers bring to every field. We wrapped up with a well-earned happy hour and networking reception.

Thank you to everyone who attended this year's event! All members are encouraged to attend next year's event. Save the date - Wednesday, February 23 in Madison.
