Entering Firm: ISG
Client: City of Onalaska
The Dash Center in Onalaska showcases how collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering can transform a modest renovation into a vibrant 16,250-square-foot community hub. Initially envisioned as a simple restroom upgrade, the project expanded as stakeholders identified broader needs for accessibility, recreation, and gathering space. The previous facility lacked ADA access, adequate gym and meeting areas, and year-round programming capacity. These challenges guided the engineering and design team toward a comprehensive, community-driven solution.
Engineers delivered a new facility by listening to the community and exceeding their needs.
ISG provided full architecture and engineering services, delivering the project on time and significantly under budget. The new facility includes a large gymnasium, multipurpose rooms equipped with audiovisual and web-conferencing technology, a senior meal site, lounges, and universal-design features such as assisted-listening systems.
Careful coordination of structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil systems supported efficient construction and long-term performance. Durable materials and energy-conscious design elements make the facility more sustainable and reduce maintenance costs.
Today, the Dash Center now serves as a cornerstone of community life, demonstrating how thoughtful engineering can elevate local facilities into lasting public assets.
