The September 9th HR Forum brought members together for an engaging and forward-looking conversation on artificial intelligence in the HR space. Jaime Kurten, Director of Applied Technology and Innovation at MSA Professional Services, shared insights on how AI works, why it is especially relevant to HR, and practical ways firms can leverage these tools.

Why AI in HR?

The discussion highlighted HR as one of the most promising areas for AI adoption due to the wealth of structured data available. Key applications included:

  • Talent acquisition tools that streamline candidate matching
  • Job descriptions and HR communications to save staff time
  • Policy and benefits communications that improve clarity and consistency
  • Process improvements through automation, analytics, and talk-to-text features
  • Learning and development support with dynamic content creation
  • Onboarding and employee experience enhancements

The forum closed with an active Q&A. Attendees discussed testing methods, protecting sensitive employee data, and evaluating AI tools. Kurten also noted that ACEC’s Technology Committee is currently researching industry AI applications.
