Submit for the 2021 WisDOT Design Awards

In spite of 2020’s difficulties, the Design Awards remain an important opportunity to celebrate excellent design work. The format for the 2021 Transportation Improvement Conference is not yet known, but the awards will go on regardless; they will either be part of the conference or a standalone presentation. After a successful live-stream pilot last year, we are confident this year’s awards will be made widely available. Please share this call for awards.

Attached please find information about the Design Awards program, including the judging criteria and nomination requirements. The criteria are aligned with the Department’s priorities, so many projects should be able to compete.

Each region is encouraged to submit one nomination in each of the following seven categories:

Best Structure - WisDOT                   Best Structure - Consultant/Municipality

Best Urban Project - WisDOT             Best Urban Project - Consultant/Municipality

Best Rural Project - WisDOT              Best Rural Project - Consultant/Municipality

Best Local Program Project

Nominations are due at Central Office by Friday, December 18, 2020.
