Entering Firm: Mead & Hunt
Client: Village of Waterford

Ten Club Park transforms six acres of formerly blighted residential lots into a vibrant, four-season community destination defined by innovation, sustainability, and public engagement.

Engineers designed a resilient, four-season park that serves the entire community.

The transformation was made possible by Mead & Hunt. The team analyzed the space and worked with the community to determine best uses. A park that could be used year-round was a priority. The park’s centerpiece is a one-of-a-kind play stream - a linear splash pad conceived to mimic the Fox River’s movement as it winds through native plantings and textured hardscaping, creating an immersive and educational experience.

A beer garden operates through late fall before converting into a winter ice-skating rink, maximizing functionality and seasonal value. A precast shelter and fire pit anchor the primary gathering area, creating a durable, low-maintenance hub that supports a wide range of activities.

Additional amenities include a trail, flexible event lawn, a playground, and the unique play stream. Ample lighting and electrical service support festivals, markets, and seasonal events. Flood-informed siting, shoreline restoration, native vegetation, and habitat enhancements further strengthen the park’s resilience.

Ten Club Park is a living demonstration of how engineering can foster joy, sustainability, and civic pride.
