Entering Firm: GRAEF
Client: Village of Germantown

The Village of Germantown’s Department of Public Works facility had long struggled with aging infrastructure and operational limitations. Seeking a modern, functional replacement, and striking out on previous designs, the Village went to GRAEF to re-envision the project.

Engineers coordinated all aspects of the projects under one roof to deliver a facility that covers all needs for the client under one roof.

GRAEF approached the redesign through an integrated Design-Build framework that emphasized accurate cost forecasting from the outset. In close partnership with Moore Construction Services, the team provided precise estimates, detailed cost analysis, and early-stage constructability insight, giving the client financial clarity and confidence. Regular communication created a highly collaborative environment that streamlined decision-making and ensured the final solution reflected both operational needs and budget expectations.

The team engineered a facility that exceeds energy efficiency regulations and provides a comfortable environment for workers. A mechanics’ bay features lifts for large trucks like fire engines so repairs can be done on site instead of in a different facility. The new building even has an in-house brine making operation for road treatment, saving the Village money in winter.

The project stands as a testament to integrated teamwork and client-focused design, resulting in a facility that meets today’s demands and positions the Village for decades of service.
